Residential Dumpster Rental across Greater Canton

Most residential jobs we run out of the Canton yard on P Rickman Industrial Dr start the same way: a garage that hasn't been cleared out in years, a bathroom remodel that's generating more debris than a pickup bed can hold, or a homeowner in one of the older streets near the mill village who's finally tackling a full house clean-out. A roll-off dumpster parked in the driveway for the length of the project beats a dozen trips to the transfer station, and it keeps the yard and the street clear while the work is happening.

We size these jobs by what's actually coming out of the house, not by guesswork. A single-room clean-out or a decluttering push is usually a 10 or 15 yard container. A kitchen or whole-house remodel, an estate clean-out, or a garage-plus-attic job usually calls for a 20. We deliver across all eighteen communities we serve — from in-town Canton and Woodstock out to Ball Ground, Waleska and the Forsyth County line near Cumming — and we walk every homeowner through driveway placement before the truck ever shows up.

Because Cherokee County has a real mix of housing stock — older homes near the Etowah River and the historic cotton-mill village, and newer construction out toward Holly Springs, Sixes and the Cobb County line — we don't use one-size-fits-all placement rules. A container that fits fine on a wide modern driveway in a newer Woodstock subdivision may need to sit differently on a narrow, older Canton street. We ask about driveway width, slope and overhead lines on every residential call.

How a residential rental works

You call or request delivery, tell us what's coming out of the house and roughly how much of it there is, and we recommend a size. We schedule a delivery window, drop the container on your driveway or another spot you point us to, and leave it for your rental period. When you're done — or when it's full — you call for pickup and we haul it straight to disposal.

There's no need to sort loose debris into categories before it goes in. Household junk, old furniture, yard waste from a cleanup, and remodeling debris can generally all go in the same container, though a few materials (see below) need to be called out ahead of time.

What's included — and what isn't

Included: the container, delivery, the rental period, pickup, and disposal of ordinary household waste, furniture, yard debris, and general remodeling material up to the weight allowance for the size you book.

Not included, and needing a heads-up before delivery: paint, solvents, motor oil, batteries, tires, refrigerants (fridges and window AC units), and anything flagged as hazardous waste. Loading a container past the fill line, or well past its rated weight, usually means an overage charge — we'd rather tell you that up front than surprise you at pickup.

Local placement considerations

Several neighborhoods in Woodstock, Holly Springs and parts of Alpharetta and Milton have HOA rules about how long a container can sit visible from the street. We're used to working around those — a shorter rental window, or placement toward the back of the driveway, usually solves it. If you're not sure what your HOA allows, it's worth a quick check before we deliver rather than after.

Suitability

Is residential dumpster rental the right call?

The fastest way to get this right is to check the load against both lists before you book.

Good fits for this container

  • Garage, attic or basement clean-outs
  • Kitchen, bathroom or whole-home remodels
  • Estate and inherited-house clean-outs
  • Yard overhauls, tree removal debris and landscaping projects
  • Moving-out purges before a sale or downsize
  • Post-storm debris from wind or ice damage

Send these somewhere else

  • Active jobsites with a general contractor and ongoing daily debris — see our construction dumpster rental
  • Roofing tear-offs specifically, which have their own weight profile — see our roofing dumpster rental
  • Commercial properties or multi-unit buildings needing recurring service — see our commercial dumpster rental
  • Loads that are mostly concrete, dirt or brick, which need a dedicated heavy-debris container rather than a standard household roll-off

Residential Dumpster Rental — the Canton-area specifics

Canton's older streets around the historic cotton-mill village and the Etowah River tend to have narrower driveways and closer-set houses than the newer subdivisions off I-575 toward Holly Springs and Woodstock — we plan container placement differently depending on which kind of street a homeowner is on. For anyone in a Woodstock, Alpharetta or Milton HOA, a quick check of your covenant's rules on visible containers before delivery saves a headache; we're glad to keep the rental window short if that's what your neighborhood requires.

Answers

Residential Dumpster Rental — your questions answered

What size dumpster do I need to clean out a garage?

Most single-garage clean-outs fit in a 10 or 15 yard container. If the garage has been used for long-term storage or you're combining it with an attic or basement clean-out, step up to a 20.

Will a roll-off damage my driveway?

On a solid, level driveway in good condition, we don't typically see damage. On older or cracked concrete, or asphalt in hot weather, we can place wood boards under the container's rails on request — just mention it when you schedule.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Rental periods are flexible and we'll set a window that matches your project. If you need extra time beyond the agreed period, call ahead and we'll extend it rather than surprise you with a pickup.

Can I put old paint or a refrigerator in the dumpster?

Paint, solvents and other hazardous materials can't go in a standard roll-off, and appliances with refrigerant (fridges, freezers, window AC units) usually need separate handling. Tell us ahead of time and we'll advise on the right way to dispose of them.

Do you deliver to my neighborhood?

We serve eighteen communities across Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth, Fulton, Pickens and Bartow counties, from Canton and Woodstock out to Cumming, Alpharetta, Jasper and Emerson. Call (770) 629-0113 and we'll confirm your address.

Does my HOA allow a dumpster in the driveway?

Rules vary by neighborhood, especially in Woodstock, Alpharetta and Milton. Check your HOA covenant, and let us know if you need a shorter rental window to stay within it.
