The 15 yard container in Canton, GA
The 15 yard is our middle-small size, and it's the one we point most first-time renters toward when they're not quite sure how much a project will generate. It has more depth and height than the 10 yard, which makes a real difference on flooring tear-outs and garage cleanouts where debris piles up faster than people expect.
We see this size a lot on jobs in Woodstock and Acworth — pulling up carpet and hardwood across a few rooms, clearing out a garage that's doubled as storage for years, or bagging up a heavy fall yard-waste haul in Ball Ground or Waleska.
It still fits most standard driveways without much trouble, and since it ships out of our Canton yard off I-575, most of Cherokee, north Cobb, and south Forsyth County sees it within a day or two of booking.
What fits in a 15 yard dumpster
Expect room for about 80 to 100 kitchen-size trash bags, or roughly 2-3 tons of debris. That covers a full garage cleanout, flooring removal across two or three rooms, a mid-size deck teardown, or a heavier round of yard waste and brush.
15 yard vs. 20 yard: which one do you need
Stick with the 15 yard for single-trade jobs — one flooring project, one garage, one yard cleanup. If you're combining a few projects at once, doing a kitchen remodel, or tackling a roof plus interior demo, the 20 yard's extra length and capacity is worth the step up so you're not stuck ordering a second container mid-project.
Capacity
What actually fits in a 15 yard container
Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what stops most loads.
| Material | How much fits |
|---|---|
| Garage cleanout (full) | a two-car garage with moderate storage buildup |
| Flooring removal | carpet, tile, or hardwood from two to three rooms |
| Deck teardown | a small-to-mid size wood deck |
| Yard waste (heavy) | a full fall cleanup with limbs, leaves, and brush |
| Furniture disposal | several rooms' worth of old furniture |
| Small remodel debris | drywall and trim from a single-room renovation |
Suitability
Is the 15 yard the right size for you?
Choose the 15 yard for
- Full garage or basement cleanout
- Multi-room flooring removal
- Small deck or fence teardown
- Heavy yard and brush cleanup
- Single-room renovation debris
- Moving and downsizing cleanouts
Pick a different size for
- Whole-house renovations — the 20 or 30 yard has more room
- Very small single-room jobs — a 10 yard is usually more cost-effective
- New construction debris — go with a 30 or 40 yard
Placing a 15 yard container on a Canton-area property
Around Woodstock and Cumming's newer subdivisions, HOA rules often specify how long a dumpster can sit in a driveway and whether it needs to be set back from the street — worth a quick check before delivery day. In Cherokee County's more rural pockets like Ball Ground and Waleska, gravel and dirt driveways are common, and we'll ask about the surface and any slope so we can place the 15 yard on solid, level ground before we drop it.

15 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked
How much weight is included with a 15 yard dumpster?
2-3 tons of mixed debris is included. Heavier material like concrete or roofing shingles fills the weight limit before the container looks full, so ask us if you're not sure what you're loading.
How much space do I need in my driveway?
Plan on about 26 feet of clear, level run, plus 10-12 feet of width and 23-25 feet of overhead clearance for delivery and pickup.
Is the 15 yard a good fit for a first-time renter?
Often, yes. It's the size we recommend most when someone isn't sure exactly how much debris their project will produce — it gives you more room than the 10 yard without jumping straight to a 20.
Can I keep the dumpster longer than planned?
Call (770) 629-0113 and we'll work out an extended rental period based on your project.
Do HOAs in Woodstock or Cumming restrict dumpster placement?
Many do — some require the container behind the front setback or removed within a certain number of days. Check your covenants before delivery, and we're happy to help plan placement around them.
